Spinal Decompression Therapy

Spinal Decompression Therapy

At Davis Chiropractic, we are passionate about finding the most effective and non-invasive forms of therapy for our patients. Many of our patients prefer to avoid the surgeries that have become all too common for back pain sufferers. Spinal Decompression Therapy is one method we use in our practice to relieve the pressure and nerve pain caused by bulging and herniated discs. Unlike invasive therapies, our patiends are able to enjoy the benefits of therapy without the downfall of long recovery times, allowing them to enjoy their lives as their body heals!

How does it work?

Spinal decompression therapy works by gently stretching the spine, creating negative pressure between vertebrae. This negative pressure helps to retract herniated or bulging discs, reducing pressure on spinal nerves and promoting the flow of oxygen, water, and nutrients into the affected area. The therapy is performed using a specialized table in our office.

How long does it take?

A session typically consists of 15 one-minute periods of decompression with a relaxation cycle in between, for a total of 20-30 minutes.

Does it hurt?

It is always our goal to make sure you feel comfortable during your visit with us! Some muscle soreness is expected after the first couple treatments, but most of our patients report that decompression is a pain-free procedure. Many people even feel relaxed enough to fall asleep during their time on the decompression table!
